Wait... who even
is this dude?

Sometimes, I wonder that myself... just kidding. But seriously, here you'll find some background about the (soon-to-be) legend called Snakeroot.

The Snake's Roots

Lil' baby Snakeroot was a Bay Area kid through and through. I lived in Oakland for most of my childhood, and then in Sacramento for the last of my teen years. Now, growing up, most kids were raised on whatever music their parents liked. For my parents, that was a whole lotta Yay Area.

I was hyphy even as a chunky toddler--and that's not exaggerating. I literally taught my kindergarten class the bird. My musical style is, shocker, highly influenced by the Hyphy Movement. One of my biggest influences is Mac Dre, may he rest in peace. Mix some Bay funkiness in with the techno, video game noises so familiar to Gen Z kids,
and you have the recipe for one Snakeroot.

The Snake's Vision

With my music, my goal is to pay homage to my roots. I want to be apart of the hyphy renaissance, ya feel me? I think the authentic, high energy, freeing feeling of Bay Area music is exactly what our generation needs. One of my specific missions is to bring that feeling from rap and hip-hop, to the many other genres I work with. Like neo-soul, pop-punk, and trap-rock, many of my
favorite types of music were born from a fusion of different genres.
How would your sound benefit from some hyphy?
